Freediving Belgium

Beginner friendly freediving in Belgium at TODI, NEMO33 and private pools.

Peak with Pete offers freediving intro sessions in Belgium for beginners, couples, friends and small groups. You can try freediving at TODI in Beringen, train at NEMO33 in Brussels, book a private pool session, refresh your skills or ask about certification support.

The focus is calm, safety and clear guidance. No need to be experienced, extremely fit or ready for a full certification course. If you are curious about freediving in Belgium, this is the easiest place to start.

The idea

Freediving is not only about depth.
It is about calm.

For most beginners, the first win is simple: feeling comfortable in the water. You learn how to breathe, relax, recover, move slowly and trust that discomfort does not automatically mean danger.

Some people come once for the experience. Some return for relaxed guided sessions. Some choose a certification course. All of them start in the same place: one breath, a safe setup, and a few hours away from the usual rush.

Why freediving?

Calm is a skill.
Freediving teaches it.

Freediving is a practical way to train breath awareness, water confidence and staying composed when your body starts sending dramatic little messages.

😮‍💨

Less rush

A few hours without notifications, deadlines or noise. Just breath, water and attention.

🫁

Breath awareness

You notice how breathing, tension and relaxation change how you feel in the water.

🌊

Water confidence

You learn to move more calmly, recover properly and feel more comfortable below the surface.

🎯

Focus

Underwater, multitasking disappears. That is not a bug. That is the point.

🤝

Trust

Freediving is done with a buddy. You learn to communicate, observe and support each other.

🧠

Comfort with discomfort

You learn the difference between a signal, discomfort and actual danger — safely and gradually.

Pete, freediving instructor in Belgium

About Pete

A calm instructor.
A clear way to start.

Hi, I’m Pete. I’m a freediving instructor, PADI Instructor, Molchanovs Assistant Instructor and personal trainer based in Belgium.

I help beginners and curious people discover freediving in a calm, structured and safe way.

Most people do not come to chase records. They come to try something different, slow down, build water confidence and learn how to stay calm under pressure.

What I like most about freediving is that it strips things back to something very simple. One breath. One body. One moment.

No phone, no noise, no rushing to the next thing. For a few minutes, your only job is to relax enough to do less.

My background in personal training helps me look at freediving through the body as well as the water. I pay attention to breathing, tension, movement, confidence and how people react when things feel new or slightly uncomfortable.

That is usually where the interesting work starts.

My style is personal, relaxed and clear. No forced performance. No pretending everyone needs to become a deep diver. Just good guidance, safety and a calm environment to learn at your own pace.

For scuba centres

Future workshop idea:
calm under pressure for divers.

I am developing a freediving-inspired workshop for scuba divers focused on breathing awareness, relaxation and calm underwater.

The goal is to help divers notice breathing rhythm, unnecessary tension and control in the water. It is not a replacement for scuba training, medical advice or agency standards — just a practical extra tool.
